Good morning, lovelies!
I feel like I've been out of touch lately, and I don't like that.
I wanted to take a minute and thank you for reading, for commenting, and for being a part of my life here on the interwebs. I love this little space where I get to share my thoughts and inspirations and connect with such thoughtful and caring readers. So, thank you for being here! Even when I'm not showing up as frequently or responding to comments as consistently as I would like, my thoughts are here.
Life is busy right now. Michael keeps me busy (always, always busy). We're also approaching the day that we will close on our house, Lord willing. So, I have one of those running to-do lists where I cross off two items, then add four, then cross off one, then add three more...you know what I'm talking about, I'm sure. It's all so exciting, and I'm so very thankful. But I also have this overwhelming desire to get as much done as I can before we move in. Because that little guy who keeps me busy (all.the.time.) isn't going to slow down for painting or curtain-hanging or drawer-cleaning or any of the millions of other things that have to be done when you move into a house. So I'm pouring my energy into planning ahead, wherever possible. And looking forward to more settled days right around the corner!
xoxo
(By the way, that's not a picture of our house up there, but isn't it stunning?
Wouldn't you just love to get in there and dress that gorgeous room? I think I'd style it like this.)

Good morning, friends!
I've realized that I tend to take pictures when I'm feeling especially happy and grateful,
so my instagram has become a catalogue of all the little blessings that bring me joy every day. It overwhelms me sometimes when I look back and see how richly God blesses me in ways both big and small. My cup overflows!
Here are some of those things that have been filling my heart with joy.
a little bit of sublime on a mundane commute.
an afternoon at the waterpark with friends and my little water baby.
flowers from my loves.
a late-night trip to target. all by myself. oh, the peace!
watching this guy learn. it's just amazing.
a nap with my pup / sparkling pool on a hot afternoon / the world's best ice cream
Wishing you a joyful weekend, lovelies! xoxo

Big revelation here: I love pinterest.
I've collected decorating ideas and tearsheets from magazines in a purple notebook since I was in high school, and when pinterest hit the scene a couple of years ago nothing could have been more natural (or more exciting!) to me than collecting my ideas online. I love, love, love having all of my inspirations in one place. Sometimes just going to my account and looking at the pins I've collected can lift my spirits and get the ideas flowing. Does anyone else feel that way?
Pinning has taken on a whole new meaning now that we're transitioning to a new home. I've been pinning all the usual things you'd expect (area rugs, chairs, etc.) but my favorite finds are the do-it-yourself projects! They're relatively simple, inexpensive, and the possibilities are so fun! Here are a few favorites that you're likely to see in our new place.
I go a little nuts for a good set of bookshelves. These are just genius.
I love the idea of a stamped wall pattern in a small space like a powder room.
Spray-painted bricks as shiny bookends.
We've got a lot of tall windows to cover. These drop-cloth curtains will be just right.

{summer} Homes I love
I feel the shift from summer to fall.
It makes me a little sad every year. Where do the summer days go?
So, here's one more {summer} home for you, friends, before we dive into the new season.
The prettiest little yellow lakehouse spotted here.
