Homes I love

I just adore this home by John and Vivian Bencich
featured on design*sponge
It's like a breath of (clean, modern, glamorous) fresh air.

To: Bun

7 months
These days I'm getting a lot bigger
and so are you!
I can feel the shape of your little body
(there's your back, there's your head!)
At night we laugh at your kicks and jabs and hiccups.
We're working on your room. I think you'll like it!
(Here's where we'll practice your ABCs.)
Ella knows something is up. She likes to stay close to my tummy.
We wonder if she can hear your heartbeat? Or feel you moving?
We're all waiting to meet you, precious little man.
Not too much longer now!
This bed definitely belongs in my cabin. I LOVE.

"I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil - this is the gift of God."
Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

Nursery prints

It's a snow day here in the northeast (yaay!) and I'm sitting by the fire doing a little shopping for the nursery (yaaaaay!) I've been on etsy for over an hour now and there is so much good stuff! Aren't these prints from letterpress adorable?
There are several great alphabet prints on my radar too:
Love these colors! ink tree press
Mod and masculine. fancy prints
So retro cool! orange studio
And a sweet french version. (They also have prints in Italian, Spanish, and Swedish!)

Shelter is on fire lately! The design firm she featured yesterday - Caldwell-Flake - is fantastique!!

Countdown to St. Martin

We bought our tickets!! In 25 days we're heading off to St. Martin for a little pre-Bun adventure! I have never been so excited to get my feet in the (warm) sand! Here's a map for you Dad - St. Martin is on the right between Anguilla and Antigua:
We can't wait!! Have a good weekend out there! Xoxo

Happy birthday to you, my love! I am so, so thankful that you were born and that you've shared your life with me. I love you more than I can write! xoxox
(And I hope our son is just like you : )

I've got that restless need to go somewhere, anywhere, new. (And warm.)
A plan is in the works (yaay!), details to follow...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!! I'm over the post-Christmas melancholy and ready to start the new year! Today I bought my 2011 planner - it's gold and crisp and new and full of possibilities. So exciting! There's a lot to do this year and here's what's at the top of my list:
The nursery! After a weekend of cleaning out and organizing, our former guest room is ready for the transition to nursery. This is layout option #1 including the crib, changing table, and chair we plan to order. (Everything is totally to scale - I am in planning overdrive.)
Here's option #2. I'm not sure which layout I like better - thoughts?

Have a great week!! xoxo
